About Me....
I
started my working life as a youth worker and that experience
sparked my interest in people and in particular adolescents. I
then decided to improve my knowledge base by gaining
qualifications in Criminology, Social Policy and Social
Sciences amongst other subjects. Constantly fascinated by
people and the nature/nurture debate, I then studied
Hypnotherapy, Counselling and Psychotherapy and
Neuro-Linguistic Programming.
I was offered a job within Social Services
for the Children and Families team and swiftly moved into the
Dorset Drug Team where I delivered counselling sessions to
children of drug and alcohol mis-users. Fascinated by
challenging behaviour in teenagers, I have worked at several
residential schools attended by teenage boys who had emotional
or behavioural problems.
In 2007 in Dorset I decided to become
self-employed as a hypnotherapist and counsellor and had a very
successful practice and after a house move to Surrey, I have
recently joined The Skin and Laser Clinic as the resident
hypnotherapist, counsellor and psychotherapist.
I use an integrative approach in my
counselling and psychotherapy embracing psychodynamic,
transactional analysis, cognitive behaviour therapy and person
centred therapy. I specialise in self-esteem, anxiety and
confidence issues in my counselling and psychotherapy sessions
and the most popular demands for hypnotherapy are smoking
cessation, weight control and phobias.
I
believe that we all hold the key within us to solve any
problems that we may have and sees myself as a tool that can be
used to access that key.
